Made a Poster on Canva, as part of a task on Day 2

I recently attended a week-long interactive workshop on “Digital Marketing Fundamentals” by Sahil Shah, organized by GirlScript Foundation, as a part of their Education Outreach Program Scholarship.

Day 1: This session was really intriguing. Earlier, I used to look at some social media platforms, especially Instagram, as a waste-of-time. But, this session made me rethink My definition of Social Media. Our task was to increase our online presence and make profiles on all the social media platforms that we can think of. I made accounts on Facebook, Pinterest, Quora, Dev Community, and Instagram along with my existing profiles on Twitter and Linkedin.

Day 2: We learnt the concept of IKIGAI, AIDA Model, Lead Generations (Hot and Cold Leads) and much more.

Day 3: Instagram Marketing. We learnt the importance of Experimenting in the Social Media Game. Sahil Sir emphasized on learning the tactics, the algorithms of these platforms. Because, the platforms will keep on changing and evolving, but our knowledge of the field is what’s going to help us.

Day 4: — — — Break — — —

Day 5: Linkedin Mastery. We learnt how to setup a professional Linkedin Profile, How LinkedIn Algorithm works, what to post, and what to avoid. Then, Sir reviewed some Linkedin Profiles, to give us a better understanding of it.

Day 6: Intro to UI/UX, Intro to Canva, Importance of Visuals. In this session, Sir put up a post on Linkedin regarding available paid internships in different domains that people can apply to during this COVID Crisis. We were supposed to increase the reach of this post. This served two purposes:

1. This post helped those who needed an internship

2. We analyzed how Linkedin Algorithm Works, by observing the reach of that post during the duration of that session.

Day 7: Intro to Social Media Analytics. This was a really crucial and informative session. We learnt about Tools of Social Media, Audience Segmentation, Brand Advocacy and Creating a calendar for our “Marketing Plan”.

These were my Key Takeaways from this program. I learnt about how to - make my online presence and add value to other people’s lives. I am implementing my learnings from this workshop in my real life. I encourage you to do the same. :)
